Vacation!

Finally! We attempted to have vacation in January only to have to return early to Nathan's hospitalization. This time we prayed for a successful and relaxing time! And God granted it!

Kenny and Nathan had to remain home to work so this was the first time Ken and I had days alone with just Cressalyn. It was a great time! We went camping in Myrtle Beach, SC. The weather was gorgeous as the week progressed but the first night we nearly froze! We actually went to Kohl's and picked up their last 2 electric throws!

On Wednesday morning we woke to discover a small bird building a nest on top of the tent just under the fly. It had been working for some time due to the size of the collection of nesting material! As Ken and Cressalyn removed the fly and brushed off the bird's hard work, the bird made one last attempt to move in. We said no.

We were able to take in the Ripley's Aquarium. That was a wonderful experience! Cressalyn touched horseshoe crabs and stingrays. I have to admit I was a bit on edge with the rays...flashbacks to Steve Irwin. I know they have it all safe and ready for the public. But still. It's the idea.

Ken and Cressalyn played catch on the beach on Thursday and the wind was it's usual blustery self. Once Cressalyn lost the softball in the sun and caught the ball in her right eye. Nothing was broken but she had a nice swollen purple area above her eye brow. She's all better now.

Ken's goal was to catch a fish in the ocean. We did fish but we only caught sunrays! The pelicans were catching but not us! During a time when Ken was without the camera on the pier a pelican sat just a few feet from him and watch him fish. I wish we had seen that!

We dropped Cressalyn off at home for a youth paintball activity and continued on our way to Pennsylvania. We made a quick trip to see Ken's family. With the changes in his employment we know our future travelling days will be limited so we wanted to get up there for even a short visit. We had great travelling weather up but it rained all the way home.

Now we have to get back to reality. Ken's job begins tomorrow and I have to go back to work. Life goes on!
