The Spiritual Formation Department of the Wesleyan Church invited many people from across the country and denomination to HQ for some discussion and feedback. What a wonderful time of connecting and reconnecting! Ken and I are greatly encouraged that HQ leadership is asking the opinions of those who are in the trenches. It was great to hear the heart of Jim and Colleen. (Scott shared, too, but to the youth-type people.) Dr. Wilson also shared encouraging words with us. What a blessing he is! He will be greatly missed!

Anyway, we decided to drive instead of flying Ken out due to the cost of flying. Google told us the trip there would take only 8.5 hours. Yeah, right. It took us 10.5 hours! Others who left from our area got there in 8.5 hours. Why is it that what takes others 8.5 or 9 or 10 hours to do takes the Davises 2 hours longer? Frustrating!

Ken looked at the atlas that we purchased on the way through West Virginia to see which route would be best for the return trip. He chose heading south into Kentucky and catching 64 east and so on. Great! This only added 100 MILES to the trip AND still took us 10.5 hours! UGH!

We got home and are glad we don't have to do another LONG trip in the near future. While we enjoy trips and driving, we are getting tired of whirlwind type trips. We left Wed. PM and returned Friday PM. Over 1000 miles.

While at the Combine we were blessed with a "concert" by 321Improv, a comedy trio who will be at Set Apart in December. It was good to laugh! The video is their "Mr. Know-It-All" response to Stevan's question "Where do babies come from?"

My parents came up from NC to be with Nate and Cressalyn while we were gone. They have been a huge help in finishing details of the settling in process. Dad is the master shelf hanger and help the kids with their display shelving in their rooms. Mom washed windows (among many other things)! How cool is that?? It is so nice to be closer to them and know that we can assist each other as the need arises.
