Nathan

Nathan slept pretty well a few hours in the night, but between 3-6 AM his fever spiked again sparking the next wave of vomiting. I arrived at the hospital at 10 AM and Ken went home. Nate had settled, was feeling very well, laughing, joking, teasing, etc. He was allowed to begin liquids at lunch and ate just a bit. It stayed down until the next round of fever-spiking-inducing-vomiting. During this round his fever went to a record 104.6. And to top that he has developed a rash on his neck and chest.

All the malaria smears have come back negative. There are no parasites in his stool. He isn't bleeding internally and his white cell count is in normal range. So this whole thing continues to be a mystery. He has been started on 2 antibiotics. One is for "common" infections and the other is for "uncommon" infections. We'll see how this goes.

On a praise note, one of the other men from our church who was hospitalized yesterday has been released. But the one who was admitted before Nathan is still very critical. Please continue to be praying for these guys and their families. And for us.

We serve a Sovereign God Who knows all about this. None of this is a mystery to HIM! Thank you for your prayers and the words of encouragement that continue to come in. You are loved!
