Spring seems to be a busy time of year around the Davis home. We are usually longing to spend every free moment outside in whatever sunshine we are blessed with as the seasons continue on their natural cycle. This year is no different, although we are loving having flowers a LOT sooner than we did in New York!
During the past days and weeks we have been busy filling out forms. Yes, everyone is filling out the dreaded tax forms that are due in just a few days, and we have done our part. In addition, we have been filling out college forms. For 3 students. Let me explain.
Kenny has decided to return to school, this time to Bethany Bible College in New Brunswick, Canada. He received word just yesterday that he is completely accepted! Yay! Nathan is focused on getting to Oklahoma Wesleyan University in Bartlesville, OK. All the forms are in and we are awaiting final acceptance. He's also applied to SWU, but only as a back up.
Ken has applied to the master's program through IWU...online. The majority of his forms are in and we are waiting for the final details of that.
But in the middle of all the preparation for college education for the fall, we have been filling out additional forms. For a mortgage.
Yes! We are in the process of buying our first house! Whoo hooo!!!!! What an exciting and yet frightening time! My beloved husband freaks out on a daily basis! He's so funny to watch! What has been wonderful to watch is how the Lord is putting all of this together for us! We seem to be just signing papers! God's making the decisions! How cool is that!
We are finally putting some roots down into a community. This feels so good. One of the big changes in order for all of this to come together and work well is that Ken is stepping out of the ministry while he is pursuing his master's degree. This was a difficult decision, but in weighing all the options and effects on the family it is the best. And God is already blessing that decision!
May 31 will be his last day at the church. God is providing other secular employment which will allow Ken to work without the pressures of 24 hour ministry. My job at the bank just went full time and we are excited to see God hand in all of this!
So celebrate with us! Pray with us! Closing is set for April 30! Pray for continued smoothness (is that a word??) through this process!!

WOW! Happy for you guys in the house buying dept. but sad about Ken stepping out of ministry for awhile. Will keep you in our prayers for a smooth transition. The house looks beautiful. Welcome to the world of "owning your own home:...it has it's ups and downs.
God bless. You are in our prayers.
You can see I haven't looked in a while!! What a change. Doing the Master's is quite a job - ask Luz! Will you still do Children's? Or get the Master's in something else?
Love you guys. Were just talking about you - were your ears ringing?
