January began with Nathan heading to El Salvador for his first missions trip out of the country. Within 10 days following his return he was in the hospital with an unknown infection in his lungs. It turns out that he had inhaled a fungus and had developed histoplasmosis. His hospital stay lasted 5 days and he has completely recovered! Praise the Lord!
In April Ken, Judy & Cressalyn were able to get away to Myrtle Beach for a few days of camping, fishing and relaxing. When we returned home we had the closing on our very first home! We became HOMEOWNERS!!! Or as we have quickly discovered…Home MOANERS! This has been an incredible experience! We are so happy to have found a lovely home in a wonderful community with beautiful neighbors!
Nathan graduated from high school and we celebrated his 18th birthday at the same time.
In August Judy delivered Nathan to Oklahoma Wesleyan University in Bartlesville, OK. 2 weeks later she and her mother, Aletha Sheets, drove to Sussex, New Brunswick, Canada to drop Kenny off at Bethany Bible College.
In September Ken began his online courses through Indiana Wesleyan University. He is in the Master’s in Leadership program. Ken is working as the General Manager for an Arby’s restaurant in Roanoke while he works on his master’s program. He is also working with the children’s pastor at Parkway Wesleyan Church where we are members.
In November, Judy left the banking business to become Ken’s Assistant Manager. They are truly enjoying working together!
Cressalyn is working at Famous Anthony’s, a local restaurant chain. She is nearing the end of her high school work and hopes to be finished in the spring of 2009. She’s looking at Southern Wesleyan and Bethany Bible as her higher education options.
